Ms. SMITH introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred
to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
A BILL
Making emergency supplemental appropriations for nutrition
and supportive services for older Native Americans under
the Older Americans Act of 1965.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Supplemental Services
4
for Native Elders Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS.
6
The following sums are hereby appropriated, out of
7
any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated,
8
for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020, and for
9
other purposes, namely:

For an additional amount for ‘‘Aging and Disability
6
Services Programs’’, for carrying out the Older Americans
7
Act of 1965 (42 U.S.C. 3001 et seq.) (‘‘OAA’’),
8
$35,896,860, to remain available through December 31,
9
2020, of which—
10
(1) $27,826,920 shall be for providing services
11
through Indian and Native American programs
12
under parts A and B of title VI of such Act (42
13
U.S.C. 3057b et seq., 3057g et seq.); and
14
(2) $8,069,940 shall be for providing services
15
through the Native American caregiver support pro-
16
gram under part C of title VI of such Act (42
17
U.S.C. 3057k–11 et seq.): Provided, That the
18
amount appropriated under this heading is des-
19
ignated by Congress as being for an emergency re-
20
quirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the
21
Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control
22
Act of 1985 (2 U.S.C. 901(b)(2)(A)(i)).
