A BILL
To amend title 37, United States Code, to standardize pay-
ment of hazardous duty incentive pay for members of
the reserve components of the Armed Forces, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Guard and Reserve
4
Hazard Duty Pay Equity Act’’.

SEC. 2. STANDARDIZATION OF PAYMENT OF HAZARDOUS

DUTY INCENTIVE PAY FOR MEMBERS OF THE

RESERVE
COMPONENTS
OF
THE
ARMED
3
FORCES.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 301 of title 37, United
5
States Code, is amended—
6
(1) in subsection (a), in the matter preceding
7
paragraph (1)—
8
(A) by inserting ‘‘under section 204 of this
9
title or compensation under section 206 of this
10
title’’ after ‘‘member of a uniformed service who
11
is entitled to basic pay’’; and
12
(B) by striking ‘‘or (c)’’ and inserting ‘‘,
13
(c), or (e)’’;
14
(2) in subsection (e), by striking ‘‘who is enti-
15
tled to basic pay’’; and
16
(3) by striking subsection (f).

(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by
18
subsection (a) shall take effect on October 1, 2020, and
19
shall apply with respect to duty performed in any month
20
beginning on or after that date.
