A BILL
To permit the territories of the United States to provide
and furnish statues for placement in the national stat-
uary hall.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PLACEMENT OF STATUES FROM TERRITORIES

IN NATIONAL STATUARY HALL.

(a) PLACEMENT OF STATUES.—Section 1814 of the
5
Revised Statutes of the United States (2 U.S.C. 2131)
6
is amended by adding at the end the following new sen-
7
tence: ‘‘For purposes of this section, the term ‘State’ in-
8
cludes American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the

(b) CONFORMING AMENDMENT RELATING TO RE-

PLACEMENT OF STATUES.—Section 311 of the Legislative

Branch Appropriations Act, 2001 (2 U.S.C. 2132) is
5
amended by adding at the end the following new sub-
6
section:

‘‘(f) For purposes of this section, the term ‘State’ in-
8
cludes American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the
9
Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto
10
Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands.’’.
