A BILL
To abolish the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division
in the Office of Civil Rights of the Department of Health
and Human Services, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Eliminating the HHS
4
Discrimination Division Act of 2020’’.
5
SEC. 2. ABOLISHMENT OF CONSCIENCE AND RELIGIOUS
6
FREEDOM DIVISION.
7
(a) IN GENERAL.—Effective on the date that is 30
8
days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Con-

Services is abolished.

(b) NO SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR DIVISION.—No
4
Federal funds may be used to establish or operate any
5
substantially similar division, agency, or office with re-
6
spect to the programs and activities of the Department
7
of Health and Human Services.
8
(c) TRANSITION.—Before the effective date specified
9
in subsection (a), the Secretary of Health and Human
10
Services shall take such actions as may be necessary to
11
transfer the assets, personnel, and liabilities of the Con-
12
science and Religious Freedom Division to other agencies
13
and offices of the Department of Health and Human Serv-
14
ices.
