A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Sec-
retary of Veterans Affairs to allow a veteran to receive
a full year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal
patches, and vaginal rings, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Access to Contracep-
4
tion Expansion for Veterans Act’’ or the ‘‘ACE Veterans
5
Act’’.

SEC. 2. FULL YEAR SUPPLY OF CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS,

TRANSDERMAL
PATCHES,
AND
VAGINAL

(a) FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—Subchapter II of chapter
4
17 of title 38, United States Code, is amended by inserting
5
after section 1720I the following new section:
6
‘‘§ 1720J. Full year supply of contraceptive pills,
7
transdermal patches, and vaginal rings
8
‘‘(a) REQUEST FOR FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—The Sec-
9
retary shall ensure that a veteran who is enrolled in the
10
system of annual patient enrollment under section 1705
11
of this title and who receives a prescription for contracep-
12
tive pills, transdermal patches, or vaginal rings may, upon
13
request, fill such prescription as a full year supply.

‘‘(b) NOTICE.—A veteran described in subsection (a)
15
shall be notified of the option for a full year supply de-
16
scribed in that subsection at the time at which the pre-
17
scription is issued.’’.
18
(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT.—The table of sections
19
at the beginning of such subchapter is amended by insert-
20
ing after the item relating to section 1720I the following
21
new item:

‘‘1720J. Full year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, and vag-
inal rings.’’.
