Veterans Affairs in Gilbert, Arizona, as the ‘‘Staff Sergeant Alexander
W. Conrad Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic’’.

which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
A BILL
To designate the community-based outpatient clinic of the
Department of Veterans Affairs in Gilbert, Arizona, as
the ‘‘Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad Veterans Af-
fairs Health Care Clinic’’.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. FINDINGS.

Congress finds the following:
4
(1) Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad of
5
Chandler, Arizona, joined the United States Army
6
on June 1, 2010.

(2) The decorated service of Staff Sergeant

Conrad includes two deployments to Afghanistan in
2
support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
3
(3) Staff Sergeant Conrad subsequently de-
4
ployed to Africa in support of Operation Octave
5
Shield, while assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special
6
Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a
7
Human Intelligence Noncommissioned Officer.
8
(4) On June 8, 2018, Staff Sergeant Conrad
9
died in Somalia from injuries sustained from indi-
10
rect enemy fire.
11
(5) Staff Sergeant Conrad was posthumously
12
awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Valor,
13
and Meritorious Service Medal.

SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF STAFF SERGEANT ALEXANDER W.

CONRAD VETERANS AFFAIRS HEALTH CARE

CLINIC.

(a) DESIGNATION.—The Southeast Veterans Affairs
18
Health Care Clinic located at 3285 South Val Vista Drive,
19
Gilbert, Arizona, shall after the date of the enactment of
20
this Act be known and designated as the ‘‘Staff Sergeant
21
Alexander W. Conrad Veterans Affairs Health Care Clin-
22
ic’’.
23
(b) REFERENCE.—Any reference in any law, regula-
24
tion, map, document, paper, or other record of the United
