For the relief of Uwe Romeike, Hannelore Romeike, Daniel
Romeike, Lydia Romeike, Josua Romeike, Christian
Romeike, and Damaris Romeike.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS FOR UWE

ROMEIKE, HANNELORE ROMEIKE, DANIEL

ROMEIKE, LYDIA ROMEIKE, JOSUA ROMEIKE,

CHRISTIAN
ROMEIKE,
AND
DAMARIS

ROMEIKE.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding subsections (a)
8
and (b) of section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality
9
Act, Uwe Romeike, Hannelore Romeike, Daniel Romeike,

Lydia Romeike, Josua Romeike, Christian Romeike, and

Damaris Romeike shall each be eligible for issuance of an
2
immigrant visa or for adjustment of status to that of an
3
alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence upon fil-
4
ing an application for issuance of an immigrant visa under
5
section 204 of such Act or for adjustment of status to
6
lawful permanent resident.

(b) ADJUSTMENT
OF STATUS.—If Uwe Romeike,
8
Hannelore Romeike, Daniel Romeike, Lydia Romeike,
9
Josua Romeike, Christian Romeike, or Damaris Romeike
10
enters the United States before the filing deadline speci-
11
fied in subsection (c), he or she shall be considered to have
12
entered and remained lawfully and shall, if otherwise eligi-
13
ble, be eligible for adjustment of status under section 245
14
of the Immigration and Nationality Act as of the date of
15
the enactment of this Act.

(c) DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION AND PAYMENT OF
17
FEES.—Subsections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the ap-
18
plication for issuance of an immigrant visa or the applica-
19
tion for adjustment of status is filed with appropriate fees
20
within 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.

(d) REDUCTION OF IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBER.—
22
Upon the granting of an immigrant visa or permanent res-
23
idence to Uwe Romeike, Hannelore Romeike, Daniel
24
Romeike, Lydia Romeike, Josua Romeike, Christian

Romeike, and Damaris Romeike, the Secretary of State
1
shall instruct the proper officer to reduce by 7, during the
2
current or next following fiscal year, the total number of
3
immigrant visas that are made available to natives of the
4
country of the aliens’ birth under section 203(a) of the
5
Immigration and Nationality Act or, if applicable, the
6
total number of immigrant visas that are made available
7
to natives of the country of the aliens’ birth under section
8
202(e) of such Act.

DENIAL
OF
PREFERENTIAL
IMMIGRATION

TREATMENT
FOR CERTAIN RELATIVES.—The natural
11
parents, brothers, and sisters of Uwe Romeike, Hannelore
12
Romeike, Daniel Romeike, Lydia Romeike, Josua
13
Romeike, Christian Romeike, and Damaris Romeike shall
14
not, by virtue of such relationship, be accorded any right,
15
privilege, or status under the Immigration and Nationality
16
Act.
