Mr. ROSE of New York (for himself, Mr. VEASEY, and Mr. MORELLE) intro-
duced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy
and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means,
for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case
for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the
committee concerned

To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand
eligibility for low-income subsidies under part D of the
Medicare program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘More Help for Seniors
4
Act of 2019’’.

PROGRAM.

Section 1860D–14(a) of the Social Security Act (42
4
U.S.C. 1395w–114(a)) is amended—
5
(1) in the header, by striking ‘‘INDIVIDUALS’’
6
and all that follows through ‘‘LINE’’ and inserting
7
‘‘CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS’’;
8
(2) in paragraph (1)—
9
(A) by striking the header and inserting
10
‘‘INDIVIDUALS WITH CERTAIN LOW INCOMES’’;
11
and
12
(B) in the matter preceding subparagraph
13
(A), by inserting ‘‘(or, with respect to a plan
14
year beginning on or after January 1, 2022,
15
150 percent)’’ after ‘‘135 percent’’;
16
(3) in paragraph (2)—
17
(A) by striking the header and inserting
18
‘‘OTHER LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS’’; and
19
(B) in subparagraph (A)—
20
(i) by inserting ‘‘(or, with respect to a
21
plan year beginning on or after January 1,
22
2022, 150 percent)’’ after ‘‘135 percent’’;

and
24
(ii) by inserting ‘‘(or, with respect to
