Supreme Court of the United States and Supreme Court Police with
the authority to protect the Chief Justice of the United States, any
Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and other individuals in any
location, and for other purposes.

A BILL
To amend title 40, United States Code, to provide the Mar-
shal of the Supreme Court of the United States and
Supreme Court Police with the authority to protect the

tion, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT BUILDING

AND GROUNDS POLICING AUTHORITY.

Section 6121 of title 40, United States Code, is
3
amended—
4
(1) in subsection (a), by striking ‘‘any State’’
5
and inserting ‘‘any location’’;
6
(2) by striking subsection (b) and inserting the
7
following:
8
‘‘(b) AUTHORIZATION TO CARRY FIREARMS.—Duties
9
under subsection (a)(2)(A) with respect to an official guest
10
of the Supreme Court in any location (other than the Dis-
11
trict of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) shall be au-
12
thorized in writing by the Chief Justice or an Associate
13
Justice, if those duties require the carrying of firearms
14
under subsection (a)(4).’’.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Reauthorizing Security
17
for Supreme Court Justices Act’’.
18
SEC. 2. UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT BUILDING AND
19
GROUNDS POLICING AUTHORITY.

Section 6121 of title 40, United States Code, is amend-
21
ed—
22
(1) in subsection (a)(2), by striking ‘‘any State’’
23
and inserting ‘‘any location’’; and

(2) by striking subsection (b) and inserting the
