To establish the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Agent Orange Service
4
Medal Act’’.

SEC. 2. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE AGENT ORANGE VET-
6
ERANS SERVICE MEDAL.
7
(a) SERVICE MEDAL REQUIRED.—The Secretary of
8
Defense shall design and produce a commemorative mili-
9
tary service medal, to be known as the ‘‘Agent Orange
10
Veterans Service Medal’’, to honor veterans who receive

compensation under section 1116 or 1116A of title 38,

United States Code.

(b) DISTRIBUTION OF MEDAL.—
3
(1) ISSUANCE TO CERTAIN VETERANS.—At the
4
request of a veteran described in subsection (a), the
5
Secretary of Defense shall issue the Agent Orange
6
Veterans Service Medal to the veteran.
7
(2) ISSUANCE TO NEXT-OF-KIN.—In the case of
8
a veteran described in subsection (a) who is de-
9
ceased, the Secretary may provide for issuance of
10
the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal to the
11
next-of-kin of the veteran.

(3) APPLICATION.—The Secretary shall prepare
13
and disseminate as appropriate an application by
14
which veterans described in subsection (a) and their
15
next-of-kin may apply to receive the Agent Orange
16
Veterans Service Medal.
