To amend chapter 17 of title 38, United States Code, to
direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to allow a vet-
eran to receive a full year supply of contraceptive pills,
transdermal patches, and vaginal rings, and for other
purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Access to Contracep-
4
tion Expansion for Veterans Act’’ or the ‘‘ACE Veterans
5
Act’’.

(a) FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—Chapter 17 of title 38,

United States Code, is amended by inserting after section
5
1720I the following new section:
6
‘‘§ 1720J. Full year supply of contraceptive pills,
7
transdermal patches, and vaginal rings
8
‘‘(a) REQUEST FOR FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—The Sec-
9
retary shall ensure that a veteran who is enrolled in the
10
system of annual patient enrollment under section 1705
11
of this title and who receives a prescription for contracep-
12
tive pills, transdermal patches, and vaginal rings may,
13
upon request, fill such prescription as a full year supply.
14
‘‘(b) NOTICE.—A veteran described by subsection (a)
15
shall be notified of the option for a full year supply pro-
16
vided by subsection (a) at the time at which the prescrip-
17
tion is issued.’’.
18
(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT.—The table of sections
19
at the beginning of such chapter is amended by inserting
20
after the item relating to section 1720I the following new
21
item:

‘‘1720J. Full year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, and vag-
inal rings.’’.
