EXCLUSION OF VETERANS DISABILITY BENEFITS 1 FROM INCOME. 2 The Department of Housing and Urban Development 3 Act (42 U.S.C. 3531 et seq.) is amended by adding at 4 the end the following new section: 5 ‘‘SEC. 15. EXCLUSION OF VETERANS DISABILITY BENEFITS 6 FROM INCOME. 7 ‘‘Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any 8 amounts received by any member of a household or family 9 as disability compensation under chapter 11 of title 38, 10 United States Code, or dependency and indemnity com- 11 pensation under chapter 13 of such title, shall not be con- 12 sidered as income of such household or family for purposes 13 of— 14 ‘‘(1) determining the eligibility of such family 15 or household for assistance under any program for 16 housing assistance administered by the Secretary; 17 ‘‘(2) the amount of benefits payable to or on 18 behalf of such family or household under such pro- 19 gram; or 20 ‘‘(3) the amount of rent paid by such family or 21 household for occupancy of a dwelling unit assisted 22 under any such program.’’. 23 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 00:36 Aug 17, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H4191.IH H4191 pamtmann on DSKBFK8HB2PROD with BILLS
