To require Amtrak to place at least 1 station agent in
every State in which Amtrak operates.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Station Agent in Every
4
Amtrak State Act’’.

SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.

In this Act:

(1) AMTRAK.—The term ‘‘Amtrak’’ means the
8
National Railroad Passenger Corporation, doing
9
business as ‘‘Amtrak’’.

STATION
AGENT.—The
term
‘‘station
1
agent’’ means an Amtrak employee who is respon-
2
sible for—
3
(A) assisting passengers with intercity pas-
4
senger rail travel;
5
(B) selling Amtrak tickets;
6
(C) providing customer service during op-
7
erating hours; or
8
(D) performing building maintenance du-
9
ties at any Amtrak facility.

SEC. 3. AMTRAK STATION AGENTS.

Amtrak shall ensure that not fewer than 1 station
12
agent is placed in every State in which Amtrak operates.
