To provide that the head of a Federal agency may not prohibit State or
local uniformed law enforcement officers from wearing or using body
cameras on joint operations with Federal law enforcement officers, and
for other purposes.

was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary
A BILL
To provide that the head of a Federal agency may not
prohibit State or local uniformed law enforcement offi-
cers from wearing or using body cameras on joint oper-
ations with Federal law enforcement officers, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Allowing Body Cam-
4
eras in Joint Task Forces Act of 2019’’.

SEC. 2. USE OF BODY CAMERAS IN JOINT LAW ENFORCE-

MENT OPERATIONS PERMITTED.

The head of a Federal agency may not—
3
(1) prohibit State or local uniformed law en-
4
forcement officers from wearing or using body cam-
5
eras on joint operations with Federal law enforce-
6
ment officers; or
7
(2) otherwise condition participation in such a
8
joint operation on State or local uniformed law en-
9
forcement officers refraining from wearing or using
10
body cameras.
