Mr. BLUMENAUER (for himself, Mr. BUCHANAN, and Ms. PRESSLEY) intro-
duced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Trans-
portation and Infrastructure
A BILL
To amend titles 23 and 49, United States Code, with respect
to bikeshare projects, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Bikeshare Transit Act
4
of 2019’’.
5
SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.
6
Section 5302 of title 49, United States Code, is
7
amended—

(1) in paragraph (1)(E)—

(A) by striking ‘‘and the installation’’ and

inserting ‘‘, the installation’’; and
2
(B) by inserting before the semicolon the
3
following: ‘‘, and bikeshare projects, including
4
any project or activity carried out to facilitate
5
a bicycle rental operation that makes bicycles
6
available for public transportation, allows riders
7
to pick up and drop off bicycles, serves a de-
8
fined geographic area, and facilitates the transit
9
of individuals between various points in such
10
geographic area’’; and
11
(2) in paragraph (3)—
12
(A) in subparagraph (M) by striking ‘‘or’’
13
at the end;
14
(B) in subparagraph (N) by striking the
15
period at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and
16
(C) by adding at the end the following:
17
‘‘(O) the acquisition or replacement of bi-
18
cycles and related equipment, including tech-
19
nology and vehicles needed to restock stations,
20
and the construction of bicycle-related facilities
21
to facilitate a bikeshare project.’’.
