NHTSA STUDY ON MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY AND IM- 1 PAIRED DRIVING. 2 (a) STUDY.—The Administrator of the National 3 Highway Traffic Safety Administration shall conduct a 4 study on the ways in which the Administration can im- 5 prove motor vehicle safety, as defined in section 30102 6 of title 49, United States Code, to address impaired driv- 7 ing, including alcohol, marijuana, and opioid-impaired 8 driving. 9 (b) REPORT.—Not later than 2 years after the date 10 of enactment of this Act, and biannually thereafter, the 11 Secretary of Transportation, in cooperation with other 12 Federal agencies, as appropriate, shall submit to the Com- 13 mittee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Rep- 14 resentatives and the Committee on Commerce, Science, 15 and Transportation of the Senate a report on the fol- 16 lowing: 17 (1) A description of the activities undertaken 18 pursuant to subsection (a). 19 (2) An update on the progress of the study pur- 20 suant to subsection (a). 21 (3) The results of the study once it is com- 22 pleted. 23 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 05:28 Jul 30, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H3888.IH H3888 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
