A BILL
To direct the Joint Committee on the Library to obtain
a statue of Harriet Tubman and to place the statue
in National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Honoring Harriet Tub-
4
man Act’’.

SEC. 2. PLACEMENT OF STATUE OF HARRIET TUBMAN IN

NATIONAL STATUARY HALL.

(a) OBTAINING STATUE.—Not later than 2 years
3
after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Joint Com-
4
mittee on the Library shall enter into an agreement to
5
obtain a statue of Harriet Tubman, under such terms and
6
conditions as the Joint Committee considers appropriate
7
consistent with applicable law.

(b) PLACEMENT.—The Joint Committee shall place
9
the statue obtained under subsection (a) in the United
10
States Capitol in a suitable permanent location in Na-
11
tional Statuary Hall.

SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.

(a) AUTHORIZATION.—There are authorized to be ap-
14
propriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out
15
this Act.
16
(b) CONTINUING AVAILABILITY
OF FUNDS.—Any
17
amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization under
18
this section shall remain available until expended.
