A BILL
To amend the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of
1999 to modify the definition of agricultural commod-
ities, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Agricultural Trucking
4
Relief Act of 2019’’.
5
SEC. 2. AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES.

Section 229(e) of the Motor Carrier Safety Improve-
7
ment Act of 1999 (49 U.S.C. 31136 note; Public Law

‘‘(7) AGRICULTURAL
COMMODITY.—The term

‘agricultural commodity’ includes—
4
‘‘(A)
agricultural,
aquacultural,
horti-
5
cultural, and floricultural commodities;
6
‘‘(B) fruits;
7
‘‘(C) vegetables;
8
‘‘(D) any non-human living animal and the
9
products of that animal; and
10
‘‘(E) other agriculture products that are—
11
‘‘(i) sensitive to temperature or cli-
12
mate; and
13
‘‘(ii) at risk of perishing in transit.’’.
