To amend title 49, United State Code, to require small
hub airports to construct areas for nursing mothers,
and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Small Airport Mothers’
2
Rooms Act of 2019’’.
3
SEC. 2. MOTHERS’ ROOMS.
4
Section 47107(w) of title 49, United States Code, is
5
amended—
6
(1) in paragraph (1) by striking ‘‘In fiscal year
7
2021’’ and all that follows through ‘‘the Secretary of
8
Transportation’’ and inserting ‘‘The Secretary of
9
Transportation’’;
10
(2) in paragraph (1)(B) by striking ‘‘one men’s
11
and one women’s’’ and inserting ‘‘at least one men’s
12
and at least one women’s’’;
13
(3) by striking paragraph (2)(A) and inserting
14
the following:
15
‘‘(A) AIRPORT SIZE.—The requirements in
16
paragraph (1) shall only apply to applications
17
submitted by the airport sponsor of—
18
‘‘(i) a medium or large hub airport in
19
fiscal year 2021 and each fiscal year there-
20
after; and
21
‘‘(ii) a small hub airport in fiscal year
22
2023 and each fiscal year thereafter, but
23
only if such airport has been categorized as
24
a small or medium hub airport for the 3
25
consecutive fiscal years prior to the fiscal

mitted.’’;

(4) in paragraph (2)(B) by striking ‘‘the date

of enactment of this Act complies with the require-
4
ment in paragraph (1)’’ and inserting ‘‘October 5,
5
2018, complies with the requirement in paragraph
6
(1)(A)’’; and
7
(5) in paragraph (2)(C) by striking ‘‘paragraph
8
(1)’’ and inserting ‘‘paragraph (1)(A)’’.
