Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. INTEGRATING ART AND DESIGN INTO NATIONAL 1 SCIENCE FOUNDATION INFORMAL STEM EDU- 2 CATION PROGRAM. 3 Section 3 of the STEM Education Act of 2015 (42 4 U.S.C. 1862q) is amended— 5 (1) in subsection (a)— 6 (A) in paragraph (2), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 7 the end; 8 (B) in paragraph (3), by striking the pe- 9 riod and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 10 (C) by adding at the end the following: 11 ‘‘(4) the integration of art and design in STEM 12 educational programs.’’; and 13 (2) in subsection (b)— 14 (A) in paragraph (3), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 15 the end; 16 (B) in paragraph (4), by striking the pe- 17 riod and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 18 (C) by adding at the end the following: 19 ‘‘(5) design and testing of programming that 20 integrates art and design in STEM education to pro- 21 mote creativity and innovation.’’. 22 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:37 Jun 20, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H3321.IH H3321 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
