Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. CASUALTY ASSISTANCE FOR ROTC GRADUATES. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 633 of the National De- 5 fense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (10 U.S.C. 6 1475 note) is amended by adding at the end the following 7 new subsection: 8 ‘‘(c) ROTC GRADUATES TREATED AS MEMBERS.— 9 For purposes of this section, a graduate of a reserve offi- 10 cers’ training corps who dies before receiving a first duty 11 assignment shall be treated as a member of the Armed 12 Forces who dies while on active duty.’’. 13 (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment under sub- 14 section (a) applies to deaths on or after the date of the 15 enactment of this Act. 16 SEC. 3.
