To amend title 10, United States Code, to require that
institutions hosting a unit of the Junior Reserve Officers’
Training Corps provide instruction in STEM fields, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Promoting STEM in
4
JROTC Act of 2019’’.

SEC. 2. JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 2031(b)(3) of title 10,
7
United States Code, is amended by inserting ‘‘and which

(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by
4
subsection (a) shall take effect 180 days after the date
5
of the enactment of this Act.
