TOLLING OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS. 1 (a) OFFENSES COMMITTED BY THE PRESIDENT 2 DURING OR PRIOR TO TENURE IN OFFICE.—Section 3282 3 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at 4 the end the following: 5 ‘‘(c) OFFENSES COMMITTED BY THE PRESIDENT 6 DURING OR PRIOR TO TENURE IN OFFICE.—In the case 7 of any person serving as President of the United States, 8 the duration of that person’s tenure in office shall not be 9 considered for purposes of any statute of limitations appli- 10 cable to any Federal criminal offense committed by that 11 person (including any offense committed during any pe- 12 riod of time preceding such tenure in office).’’. 13 (b) APPLICABILITY.—The amendment made by sub- 14 section (a) shall apply to any offense committed before the 15 date of the enactment of this section, if the statute of limi- 16 tations applicable to that offense had not run as of such 17 date. 18 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:41 Jun 11, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S1756.IS S1756 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
