Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. ANNUAL DEADLINE FOR PETITIONS BY SMALL RE- 1 FINERIES FOR EXEMPTIONS FROM RENEW- 2 ABLE FUEL REQUIREMENTS. 3 (a) DEADLINE.—Notwithstanding any other provi- 4 sion of law, petitions under section 211(o)(9) of the Clean 5 Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7545(o)(9)) for an exemption from the 6 requirements of section 211(o)(2) of such Act (42 U.S.C. 7 7545(o)(2)) shall be submitted to the Administrator of the 8 Environmental Protection Agency by June 1 of the year 9 preceding the year when such requirements would other- 10 wise be in effect. 11 (b) EFFECT OF FAILURE TO MEET DEADLINE.—If 12 a petition described in subsection (a) is not submitted by 13 the deadline specified in such subsection, the petition shall 14 be ineligible for consideration or approval. 15 SEC. 3.
