INFORMATION SHARING WITH RESPECT TO UNAC- 1 COMPANIED ALIEN CHILDREN. 2 (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi- 3 sion of law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services 4 shall provide to the Secretary of Homeland Security infor- 5 mation relating to the sponsor, potential sponsor, and each 6 member of the household of the sponsor or potential spon- 7 sor, of an unaccompanied alien child (as defined in section 8 462(g) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 9 279(g)). 10 (b) USE OF INFORMATION.—Notwithstanding any 11 other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security 12 may use the information provided under subsection (a) to 13 place in detention, remove, or refer for a decision whether 14 to initiate removal proceedings or initiate removal pro- 15 ceedings against, the sponsor, potential sponsor, or any 16 member of the household of the sponsor or potential spon- 17 sor, of an unaccompanied alien child. 18 (c) AUTHORITY TO INVESTIGATE.—Notwithstanding 19 any other provision of law, Federal, State, and local law 20 enforcement agencies may investigate any suspected viola- 21 tion of law by a sponsor, potential sponsor, or a member 22 of the household of a sponsor or potential sponsor, of an 23 unaccompanied alien child. 24 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:18 May 30, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S1561.IS S1561 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
