Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2 † S 712 ES SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Connected Maternal 2 Online Monitoring Act’’ or the ‘‘Connected MOM Act’’. 3 SEC. 2. COVERAGE OF REMOTE PHYSIOLOGIC MONITORING 4 DEVICES AND IMPACT ON MATERNAL AND 5 CHILD HEALTH OUTCOMES UNDER MED- 6 ICAID. 7 (a) REPORT TO CONGRESS.—Not later than 18 8 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Sec- 9 retary of Health and Human Services shall submit to Con- 10 gress a report containing information on authorities and 11 State practices for covering remote physiological moni- 12 toring devices, including limitations and barriers to such 13 coverage and the impact on maternal health outcomes, and 14 to the extent appropriate, recommendations on how to ad- 15 dress such limitations or barriers related to coverage of 16 remote physiologic devices under State Medicaid pro- 17 grams, including, but not limited to, pulse oximeters, blood 18 pressure cuffs, scales, and blood glucose monitors, with 19 the goal of improving maternal and child health outcomes 20 for pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in State 21 Medicaid programs. 22 (b) STATE RESOURCES.—Not later than 6 months 23 after the submission of the report required by subsection 24 (a), the Secretary shall update resources for State Med- 25 icaid programs, such as State Medicaid telehealth toolkits, 26 3 † S 712 ES to be consistent with the recommendations provided in 1 such report. 2 Passed the Senate December 4, 2024.
