A BILL
To expand the private right of action under the Telephone
Consumer Protection Act for calls in violation of the
Do Not Call rules.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protecting American
4
Consumers from Robocalls Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. PRIVATE RIGHT OF ACTION FOR CALLS IN VIOLA-
6
TION OF DO NOT CALL RULES.

Section 227(c)(5) of the Communications Act of 1934

(47 U.S.C. 227(c)(5)) is amended—
