REIMBURSEMENT OF FEDERAL EMPLOYEES FOR 1 FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL INCOME TAXES 2 INCURRED DURING TRAVEL, TRANSPOR- 3 TATION, AND RELOCATION. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—5724b of title 5, United States 5 Code, is amended— 6 (1) in the section heading by striking ‘‘of em- 7 ployees transferred’’; 8 (2) in subsection (a)— 9 (A) in the first sentence, by striking ‘‘em- 10 ployee, or by an employee and such employee’s 11 spouse (if filing jointly), for any moving or stor- 12 age’’ and inserting ‘‘individual, or by an indi- 13 vidual and such individual’s spouse (if filing 14 jointly), for any travel, transportation, or relo- 15 cation’’; and 16 (B) in the second sentence, by striking 17 ‘‘employee’’ and inserting ‘‘individual, or the in- 18 dividual’’; and 19 (3) by striking subsection (b) and inserting the 20 following: 21 ‘‘(b) For purposes of this section, the term ‘travel, 22 transportation, or relocation expenses’ means all travel, 23 transportation, or relocation expenses reimbursed or fur- 24 nished in kind pursuant to this subchapter or chapter 25 41.’’. 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 18:17 Mar 28, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S841.IS S841 pamtmann on DSKBFK8HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •S 841 IS (b) TECHNICAL AND CONFORMING AMENDMENT.— 1 The table of sections for chapter 57 of title 5, United 2 States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to 3 section 5724b and inserting the following: 4 ‘‘5724b. Taxes on reimbursements for travel, transportation, and relocation ex- penses.’’.
