Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS FOR ALFREDO 3 PLASCENCIA LOPEZ. 4 (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding subsections (a) 5 and (b) of section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality 6 Act (8 U.S.C. 1151), Alfredo Plascencia Lopez shall be 7 eligible for the issuance of an immigrant visa or for adjust- 8 ment of status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for 9 permanent residence upon filing an application for 10 issuance of an immigrant visa under section 204 of that 11 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:54 Mar 14, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S795.IS S795 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS 2 •S 795 IS Act (8 U.S.C. 1154) or for adjustment of status to lawful 1 permanent resident. 2 (b) ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS.—If Alfredo Plascencia 3 Lopez enters the United States before the filing deadline 4 specified in subsection (c), Alfredo Plascencia Lopez shall 5 be considered to have entered and remained lawfully and 6 shall be eligible for adjustment of status under section 245 7 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1255) 8 as of the date of the enactment of this Act. 9 (c) APPLICATION AND PAYMENT OF FEES.—Sub- 10 sections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the application for 11 issuance of immigrant visas or the application for adjust- 12 ment of status are filed with appropriate fees within two 13 years after the date of the enactment of this Act. 14 (d) REDUCTION OF IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBERS.— 15 Upon the granting of immigrant visas or permanent resi- 16 dence to Alfredo Plascencia Lopez, the Secretary of State 17 shall instruct the proper officer to reduce by one, during 18 the current or next following fiscal year— 19 (1) the total number of immigrant visas that 20 are made available to natives of the country of birth 21 of Alfredo Plascencia Lopez under section 203(a) of 22 the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 23 1153(a)); or 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:54 Mar 14, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S795.IS S795 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS 3 •S 795 IS (2) if applicable, the total number of immigrant 1 visas that are made available to natives of the coun- 2 try of birth of Alfredo Plascencia Lopez under sec- 3 tion 202(e) of that Act (8 U.S.C. 1152(e)). 4 (e) PAYGO.—The budgetary effects of this Act, for 5 the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You- 6 Go Act of 2010, shall be determined by reference to the 7 latest statement titled ‘‘Budgetary Effects of PAYGO 8 Legislation’’ for this Act, submitted for printing in the 9 Congressional Record by the Chairman of the Senate 10 Budget Committee, provided that such statement has been 11 submitted prior to the vote on passage. 12 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:54 Mar 14, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S795.IS S795 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
