RESOLUTION
Establishing the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship
Program for the placement in offices of Senators of
children, spouses, and siblings of members of the Armed
Forces who are hostile casualties or who have died from
a training-related injury.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This resolution may be cited as the ‘‘SFC Sean

Cooley and SPC Christopher Horton Congressional Gold
4
Star Family Fellowship Program Resolution’’.

SEC. 2. CONGRESSIONAL GOLD STAR FELLOWSHIP PRO-

GRAM.

(a) DEFINITIONS.—In this section—
3
(1) the term ‘‘eligible individual’’ means an in-
4
dividual who is the child (including a stepchild),
5
spouse, or sibling of a member of the Armed Forces
6
who is a hostile casualty or died from a training-re-
7
lated injury;
8
(2) the terms ‘‘hostile casualty’’ and ‘‘training-
9
related injury’’ have the meanings given those terms
10
in section 2402(b) of title 38, United States Code;
11
and
12
(3) the term ‘‘Program’’ means the Congres-
13
sional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program estab-
14
lished under subsection (b).

(b) ESTABLISHMENT.—There is established in the
16
Senate the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship
17
Program, under which an eligible individual may serve a
18
12-month fellowship in the office of a Senator.
19
(c) DIRECTION OF PROGRAM.—The Program shall be
20
carried out under the direction of the Secretary of the
21
Senate.

(d) PLACEMENT IN DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA OFFICE
23
OR A STATE OFFICE.—An individual may serve a fellow-
24
ship under the Program at the office of a Senator in the

(e) REGULATIONS.—The Program shall be carried

out in accordance with regulations promulgated by the
4
Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate.
