To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to equalize
the Federal medical assistance percentage applicable to
certain individuals in the expansion population of the
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Medicaid Equality Act
4
of 2019’’.

PERCENTAGE FOR CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS IN

THE EXPANSION POPULATION OF THE PA-

TIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE

ACT.

Section 1905 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C.
6
1396d) is amended—
7
(1) in subsection (y)(1)—
8
(A) in subparagraph (C), by adding ‘‘and’’
9
at the end;
10
(B) in subparagraph (D), by striking ‘‘;
11
and’’ and inserting a period; and
12
(C) by striking subparagraph (E); and
13
(2) in subsection (z)(2)—
14
(A) in subparagraph (A), by inserting
15
‘‘(through 2019)’’ after ‘‘thereafter’’; and
16
(B) in subparagraph (B)(ii)(VI), by strik-
17
ing ‘‘and each subsequent year’’.
