A BILL
To withdraw certain land located in Curry County and Jose-
phine County, Oregon, from all forms of entry, appro-
priation, or disposal under the public land laws, location,
entry, and patent under the mining laws, and operation
under the mineral leasing and geothermal leasing laws,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Southwestern Oregon
4
Watershed and Salmon Protection Act’’.

SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS.

In this Act:
2
(1) ELIGIBLE FEDERAL LAND.—The term ‘‘eli-
3
gible Federal land’’ means—
4
(A) any federally owned land or interest in
5
land depicted on the Maps as within the Hunter
6
Creek and Pistol River Headwaters Withdrawal
7
Proposal or the Rough and Ready and Baldface
8
Creeks Mineral Withdrawal Proposal; or
9
(B) any land or interest in land located
10
within such withdrawal proposals that is ac-
11
quired by the Federal Government after the
12
date of enactment of this Act.

(2) MAPS.—The term ‘‘Maps’’ means—
14
(A) the Bureau of Land Management map
15
entitled ‘‘Hunter Creek and Pistol River Head-
16
waters Withdrawal Proposal’’ dated January
17
12, 2015; and
18
(B) the Bureau of Land Management map
19
entitled ‘‘Rough and Ready and Baldface
20
Creeks Mineral Withdrawal Proposal’’ dated
21
January 12, 2015.

SEC. 3. WITHDRAWAL OF FEDERAL LAND, CURRY COUNTY
23
AND JOSEPHINE COUNTY, OREGON.
24
(a) WITHDRAWAL.—Subject to valid existing rights,
25
the eligible Federal land is withdrawn from all forms of—

(1) entry, appropriation, or disposal under the

public land laws;
2
(2) location, entry, and patent under the mining
3
laws; and
4
(3) operation under the mineral leasing and
5
geothermal leasing laws.

(b) AVAILABILITY OF MAPS.—Not later than 30 days
7
after the date of enactment of this Act, the Maps shall
8
be made available to the public at each appropriate office
9
of the Bureau of Land Management.

SEC. 4. EXISTING USES NOT AFFECTED.
11
Except with respect to the withdrawal under section
12
3, nothing in this Act restricts recreational uses, hunting,
13
fishing, forest management activities, or other authorized
14
uses allowed on the date of enactment of this Act on the
15
eligible Federal land in accordance with applicable law.

SEC. 5. TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS TO WILD AND SCENIC
17
RIVERS ACT RELATING TO THE CHETCO
18
RIVER, OREGON.
19
Paragraph (69) of section 3(a) of the Wild and Scenic
20
Rivers Act (16 U.S.C. 1274(a)) is amended to read as fol-
21
lows:
22
‘‘(69) CHETCO, OREGON.—
23
‘‘(A) DESIGNATIONS.—The 44.5-mile segment
24
from its headwaters to the Siskiyou National Forest

boundary; to be administered by the Secretary of

Agriculture in the following classes:

‘‘(i) The 27.5-mile segment from its head-

waters to Mislatnah Creek as a wild river.

‘‘(ii) The 7.5-mile segment from Mislatnah
5
Creek to Eagle Creek as a scenic river.

‘‘(iii) The 9.5-mile segment from Eagle
7
Creek to the Siskiyou National Forest bound-
8
ary, one mile below Wilson Creek, as a rec-
9
reational river.

‘‘(B) WITHDRAWAL.—Subject to valid rights,
11
the Federal land within the boundaries of the river
12
segments designated by subparagraph (A), is with-
13
drawn from all forms of—
14
‘‘(i) entry, appropriation, or disposal under
15
the public land laws;
16
‘‘(ii) location, entry, and patent under the
17
mining laws; and
18
‘‘(iii) operation under the mineral leasing
19
and geothermal leasing laws.’’.
