A BILL
To require the Secretary of the Treasury to redesign $20
Federal reserve notes so as to include a likeness of
Harriet Tubman, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Harriet Tubman Trib-

ute Act of 2019’’.

SERVE NOTES.

The 8th undesignated paragraph of section 16 of the
4
Federal Reserve Act (12 U.S.C. 418) is amended by add-
5
ing at the end the following new sentence: ‘‘The Secretary
6
of the Treasury shall ensure that the face of all $20 Fed-
7
eral reserve notes printed after December 31, 2020, shall
8
bear the likeness of Harriet Tubman.’’.
