REQUIREMENT TO REPORT HIRING TO CARRY OUT 1 THE SAFE DRINKING WATER ACT. 2 Section 11(b) of the Safe Drinking Water Amend- 3 ments of 1977 (42 U.S.C. 300j–10) is amended— 4 (1) by striking ‘‘(b) To the extent’’ and insert- 5 ing the following: 6 ‘‘(b) APPOINTMENT OF PERSONNEL.— 7 ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—To the extent’’; and 8 (2) by adding at the end the following: 9 ‘‘(2) REPORTING OF HIRING REQUIRED.— 10 ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—Not later than 30 11 days after an appointment is made under this 12 subsection, the Administrator of the Environ- 13 mental Protection Agency shall provide notifica- 14 tion of the appointment to— 15 ‘‘(i) the Committee on Environment 16 and Public Works of the Senate; 17 ‘‘(ii) the Committee on Homeland Se- 18 curity and Governmental Affairs of the 19 Senate; 20 ‘‘(iii) the Committee on Energy and 21 Commerce of the House of Representa- 22 tives; and 23 ‘‘(iv) the Committee on Oversight and 24 Reform of the House of Representatives. 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:04 Feb 01, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S233.IS S233 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS 3 •S 233 IS ‘‘(B) NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.—The 1 notification required under subparagraph (A) 2 shall include the following information about 3 the appointment that was made under this sub- 4 section: 5 ‘‘(i) The name of the appointee. 6 ‘‘(ii) The title of the appointee. 7 ‘‘(iii) The salary of the appointee. 8 ‘‘(iv) A detailed justification explain- 9 ing why the Administrator of the Environ- 10 mental Protection Agency deemed the ap- 11 pointment necessary to appropriately dis- 12 charge the functions of the Administrator 13 under the Safe Drinking Water Act (42 14 U.S.C. 300f et seq.) and other provisions 15 of law.’’. 16 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:04 Feb 01, 2019 Jkt 089200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S233.IS S233 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42 with BILLS
