A BILL
To provide reimbursement to certain Federal employees for
childcare expenses during the lapse in appropriations
beginning on or about December 22, 2018.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Federal Worker
4
Childcare Protection Act of 2019’’.

SEC. 2. CHILDCARE REIMBURSEMENT.

Any Federal employee who is furloughed or working
2
without receiving a paycheck during the lapse in appro-
3
priations beginning on or about December 22, 2018, and
4
paying for childcare during such lapse shall receive reim-
5
bursement for such care—
6
(1) subject to appropriations; and
7
(2) if such an employee can provide documenta-
8
tion to the General Services Administration in the
9
form a of a receipt from a childcare provider.
