A BILL
To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to alter
the deadlines by which an application for asylum must
be made, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Asylum Protection Act
4
of 2019’’.

SEC. 2. DATES OF APPLICATIONS FOR ASYLUM.

Section 208(a)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality
7
Act (8 U.S.C. 1158(a)(2)) is amended—
8
(1) by striking ‘‘1 year’’ and inserting ‘‘30
9
days’’; and
