AN ACT
To direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a recon-
naissance survey of the site of the Kettle Creek Battle-
field in Wilkes County, Georgia, and adjacent property,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. KETTLE CREEK BATTLEFIELD SURVEY.

(a) SHORT TITLE.—This section may be cited as the
2
‘‘Kettle Creek Battlefield Survey Act’’.
3
(b) RECONNAISSANCE SURVEY.—
4
(1) SURVEY.—The Secretary of the Interior
5
(referred to in this section as the ‘‘Secretary’’) shall
6
conduct a reconnaissance survey of the site of the
7
Kettle Creek Battlefield in Wilkes County, Georgia,
8
and adjacent property (referred to in this section as
9
the ‘‘site’’).

(2) REQUIREMENTS
FOR
SURVEY.—In con-
11
ducting the survey under paragraph (1), the Sec-
12
retary shall evaluate the likelihood that resources
13
within the site boundary would meet the four criteria
14
for new parklands—
15
(A) national significance;
16
(B) suitability;
17
(C) feasibility; and
18
(D) need for National Park Service man-
19
agement.
20
(3) REPORT.—Not later than 1 year after the
21
date on which funds are made available to carry out
22
the survey under paragraph (1), the Secretary shall
23
submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of
24
the House of Representatives and the Committee on
