tana, from the mining and mineral leasing laws of the United States,
and for other purposes.

was read twice and referred to the Committee on Energy and Natural

A BILL
To withdraw certain National Forest System land in the
Emigrant Crevice area located in the Custer Gallatin
National Forest, Park County, Montana, from the min-
ing and mineral leasing laws of the United States, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Yellowstone Gateway
4
Protection Act’’.

SEC. 2. WITHDRAWAL.
1
(a) DEFINITION OF MAP.—In this section, the term
2
‘‘map’’ means the map entitled ‘‘Emigrant Crevice Pro-
3
posed Withdrawal Area’’ and dated November 10, 2016.
4
(b) WITHDRAWAL.—Subject to valid existing rights
5
in existence on the date of enactment of this Act, the Na-
6
tional Forest System land and interests in the National
7
Forest System land, as depicted on the map, is withdrawn
8
from—
9
(1) location, entry, and patent under the mining
10
laws; and
11
(2) disposition under all laws pertaining to min-
12
eral and geothermal leasing.
13
(c) ACQUIRED LAND.—Any land or interest in land
14
within the area depicted on the map that is acquired by
15
the United States after the date of enactment of this Act
16
shall, on acquisition, be immediately withdrawn in accord-
17
ance with this section.

(d) MAP.—

(1) SUBMISSION
OF
MAP.—As soon as prac-
20
ticable after the date of enactment of this Act, the
21
Secretary of Agriculture shall file the map with—
22
(A) the Committee on Energy and Natural
23
Resources of the Senate; and
24
(B) the Committee on Natural Resources
25
of the House of Representatives.

(2) FORCE
OF
LAW.—The map filed under
1
paragraph (1) shall have the same force and effect
2
as if included in this Act, except that the Secretary
3
of Agriculture may correct clerical and typographical
4
errors in the map.

(3) PUBLIC
AVAILABILITY.—The map filed
6
under paragraph (1) shall be on file and available
7
for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the
8
Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Manage-
9
ment.
10
(e) EFFECT.—Nothing in this section affects any rec-
11
reational use, including hunting or fishing, that is author-
12
ized on land within the area depicted on the map under
13
applicable law as of the date of enactment of this Act.
