A BILL
To improve mapping under the National Flood Insurance
Program, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Flood Insurance Rate
4
Map Interagency Technology Act of 2019’’ or the ‘‘FIRM
5
IT Act of 2019’’.
6
SEC. 2. SHARING AND USE OF MAPS AND DATA.
7
Subsection (b) of section 100216 of the Biggert-
8
Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 (42 U.S.C.
9
4101b(b)) is amended—

(A) in subparagraph (B), by striking

‘‘and’’ at the end;

partment of Defense, the United States Geo-

logical Survey, and the National Oceanic and

Atmospheric Administration for the purpose of

obtaining the most-up-to-date maps and other

information of such agencies, including infor-

mation on topography, water flow, and any
14
other issues, relevant to mapping for flood in-
15
surance purposes.’’; and

(2) in paragraph (3)—
17
(A) in subparagraph (D), by striking
18
‘‘and’’ at the end;
19
(B) by redesignating paragraph (E) as
20
subparagraph (F); and
21
(C) by inserting after subparagraph (D)

the following new subparagraph:
