AN ACT
To require the Comptroller General of the United States
to submit to Congress a report on actions taken by
the Secretary of Health and Human Services to address
social determinants of health.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Social Determinants
2
of Health Data Analysis Act of 2021’’.

SEC. 2. REPORT ON ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE SECRETARY
4
OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES TO AD-
5
DRESS SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH.

Not later than 2 years after the date of the enact-
7
ment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United
8
States shall submit to Congress a report on actions taken
9
by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (in this
10
section referred to as the ‘‘Secretary’’) to address social
11
determinants of health. Such report shall include the fol-
12
lowing:
13
(1) An analysis of how any data collection un-
14
dertaken by the Secretary in furtherance of such ac-
15
tions complies with Federal and State privacy laws
16
and regulations.
17
(2) A description of any coordination under-
18
taken by the Secretary with other relevant Federal
19
agencies and State and local authorities as part of
20
such actions.
21
(3) An identification of any potential for dupli-
22
cation of such actions or other barriers to such ac-
23
tions.
24
(4) Recommendations on how to foster private-
25
public partnerships, as well as how best to leverage
