A BILL
To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit
the resettlement of refugees in a State that objects to
such resettlement, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘States Have A Say
4
Act’’.

SEC. 2. STATE APPROVAL REQUIRED FOR RESETTLEMENT

OF REFUGEES.

Section 412 of the Immigration and Nationality Act
3
(8 U.S.C. 1522) is amended by adding at the end the fol-
4
lowing:
5
‘‘(g) STATE APPROVAL.—Notwithstanding any other
6
provision of law, the Director may not resettle a refugee
7
in a State if the Governor of that State does not consent
8
to such resettlement.’’.
