Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. FULL YEAR SUPPLY OF CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS, 1 TRANSDERMAL PATCHES, VAGINAL RINGS, 2 AND OTHER HORMONAL CONTRACEPTIVE 3 PRODUCTS. 4 (a) FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—Subchapter II of chapter 5 17 of title 38, United States Code, is amended by inserting 6 after section 1720J the following new section: 7 ‘‘§ 1720K. Full year supply of contraceptive pills, 8 transdermal patches, vaginal rings, and 9 other hormonal contraceptive products 10 ‘‘(a) REQUEST FOR FULL YEAR SUPPLY.—The Sec- 11 retary shall ensure that a veteran who is enrolled in the 12 system of annual patient enrollment of the Department 13 under section 1705 of this title and who receives a pre- 14 scription for contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, vag- 15 inal rings, or other hormonal contraceptive products may, 16 upon request, fill such prescription as a full year supply. 17 ‘‘(b) NOTICE.—A veteran described in subsection (a) 18 shall be notified of the option for a full year supply de- 19 scribed in that subsection at the time at which the pre- 20 scription is issued.’’. 21 (b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT.—The table of sections 22 at the beginning of such subchapter is amended by insert- 23 ing after the item relating to section 1720J the following 24 new item: 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 22:16 Jun 15, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\S1915.IS S1915 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •S 1915 IS ‘‘1720K.
