A BILL
To amend the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United
States to provide for permanent duty-free treatment on
imports of basketballs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PERMANENT DUTY-FREE TREATMENT ON IM-
3
PORTS OF BASKETBALLS.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Chapter 95 of the Harmonized
5
Tariff Schedule of the United States is amended by insert-
6
ing in numerical sequence the following new subheading,
7
with the article description having the same degree of in-
8
dentation as the article description for subheading
9
9506.62.40:

(b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—

(1) Chapter 95 of the Harmonized Tariff

Schedule of the United States, as amended by sub-

section (a), is further amended by redesignating sub-

heading 9506.62.80 as subheading 9506.62.81.

(2) Subchapter II of chapter 99 of the Har-
6
monized Tariff Schedule of the United States is
7
amended
by
striking
headings
9902.17.75,
8
9902.17.76, and 9902.17.77.
9
(3) Note 20(s)(i) to subchapter III of chapter
10
99 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United
11
States is amended by striking ‘‘9506.62.80’’ and by
12
inserting ‘‘9506.62.70’’ and ‘‘9506.62.81’’.

(c) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by
14
subsection (a) applies to articles entered, or withdrawn
15
from warehouse for consumption, on or after the 15th day
16
after the date of the enactment of this Act.
