SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Advancing Uniform 2 Transportation Opportunities for Veterans Act’’ or the 3 ‘‘AUTO for Veterans Act’’. 4 SEC. 2. ELIGIBILITY FOR DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AF- 5 FAIRS PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL AUTO- 6 MOBILE OR OTHER ADAPTED EQUIPMENT. 7 Section 3903(a) of title 38, United States Code, is 8 amended— 9 (1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘paragraph 10 (2)’’ and inserting ‘‘paragraphs (2) and (3)’’; and 11 (2) by adding at the end the following new 12 paragraph: 13 ‘‘(3) The Secretary may provide or assist in providing 14 an eligible person with an additional automobile or other 15 conveyance under this chapter— 16 ‘‘(A) if more than 25 years have elapsed since 17 the eligible person most recently received an auto- 18 mobile or other conveyance under this chapter; or 19 ‘‘(B) beginning on the day that is 10 years 20 after date of the enactment of the AUTO for Vet- 21 erans Act, if more than 10 years have elapsed since 22 the eligible person most recently received an auto- 23 mobile or other conveyance under this chapter.’’. 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:51 Oct 12, 2022 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H3304.RFS H3304 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 HR 3304 RFS SEC. 3. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS TREATMENT 1 OF CERTAIN VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS AS 2 MEDICAL SERVICES. 3 Section 1701(6) of title 38, United States Code, is 4 amended by adding at the end the following new subpara- 5 graph: 6 ‘‘(I) The provision of medically necessary van 7 lifts, raised doors, raised roofs, air-conditioning, and 8 wheelchair tiedowns for passenger use.’’. 9 SEC. 4. MODIFICATION OF CERTAIN HOUSING LOAN FEE. 10 (a) EXTENSION.—The loan fee table in section 11 3729(b)(2) of title 38, United States Code, is amended 12 by striking ‘‘January 14, 2031’’ each place it appears and 13 inserting ‘‘May 16, 2031’’. 14 SEC. 5.
