Mr. MCCLINTOCK (for himself, Mr. CARL, Mr. LAMALFA, Mr. CALVERT, Ms.
HERRELL, Mr. STAUBER, and Mr. YOUNG) introduced the following bill;
which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources, and in addi-
tion to the Committee on Agriculture, for a period to be subsequently de-
termined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions
as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
A BILL
To amend the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act
to provide for a lifetime National Recreational Pass for
law enforcement officers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Law Enforcement Offi-
4
cer Recreation Pass Act’’.

SEC. 2. NATIONAL RECREATIONAL PASSES FOR LAW EN-

FORCEMENT OFFICERS.

Section 805(b) of the Federal Lands Recreation En-
3
hancement Act (16 U.S.C. 6804(b)) is amended by insert-
4
ing after paragraph (2) the following:

OFFICER
DIS-

COUNT.—The Secretary shall make the National
7
Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass avail-
8
able, without charge and for the lifetime of the
9
passholder, to any law enforcement officer. For the
10
purposes of this paragraph, the term ‘law enforce-
11
ment officer’ means any officer, agent, or employee
12
of the Federal Government, a State, a unit of local
13
government, or an Indian Tribe, authorized by law
14
or by a government agency to engage in or supervise
15
the prevention, detection, or investigation of any vio-
16
lation of criminal law, or authorized by law to super-
17
vise sentenced criminal offenders.’’.
