To amend title III of division H of the Consolidated Appropriations Act,
2021 to prohibit the expenditure of funds on the priorities noticed in
the proposed rule submitted by the Department of Education relating
to Proposed Priorities-American History and Civics Education, and for
other purposes.

A BILL
To amend title III of division H of the Consolidated Appro-
priations Act, 2021 to prohibit the expenditure of funds
on the priorities noticed in the proposed rule submitted
by the Department of Education relating to Proposed
Priorities-American History and Civics Education, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protect Equality And
4
Civics Education (PEACE) Act’’.

SEC. 2. LIMITATION ON USE OF FUNDS.

After section 318 of title III of division H of the Con-

solidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (Public Law 116–
3
260), insert the following:
4
‘‘SEC. 319. None of the funds made available by this
5
Act may be used to fund the priorities noticed in the pro-
6
posed rule submitted by the Department of Education re-
7
lating to Proposed Priorities-American History and Civics
8
Education (published at 86 Fed. Reg. 20348 (April 19,
9
2021)), or any other priority or requirement related to the
10
teaching of Critical Race Theory under any grant, con-
11
tract, or cooperative agreement.’’.
