EXTENSION OF PAID LEAVE. 1 (a) EMERGENCY PAID SICK LEAVE ACT.—The 2 Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act (29 U.S.C. 2601 note) 3 is amended— 4 (1) in section 5102(b)(2), by inserting ‘‘in each 5 calendar year’’ after ‘‘paid sick time’’; 6 (2) in section 5103(b), 7 (A) by striking ‘‘Not later than’’ and in- 8 serting ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—Not later than’’; 9 and 10 (B) by adding at the end the following new 11 paragraph: 12 ‘‘(2) UPDATES.—The notice under paragraph 13 (1) shall be updated and made publicly available not 14 later than 7 days after the date of the enactment of 15 the Pandemic Leave Extension Act.’’; 16 (3) in section 5108, by striking the period at 17 the end and inserting ‘‘or 15 days after the date of 18 the enactment of the Pandemic Leave Extension 19 Act.’’; and 20 (4) in section 5109, by striking ‘‘December 31, 21 2020’’ and inserting ‘‘the date that is the end of the 22 public health emergency related to the coronavirus 23 declared by the Secretary of Health and Human 24 Services pursuant to section 319 of the Public 25 Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 247d)’’. 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:12 Jun 10, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H3040.IH H3040 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 3040 IH (b) FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT.— 1 (1) AMENDMENT.—The Family and Medical 2 Leave Act of 1993 (29 U.S.C. 2611 et seq.) is 3 amended in section 102(a)(1)(F) (29 U.S.C. 4 2612(a)(1)(F)), by striking ‘‘December 31, 2020’’ 5 and inserting ‘‘the date that is the end of the public 6 health emergency related to the coronavirus declared 7 by the Secretary of Health and Human Services 8 pursuant to section 319 of the Public Health Service 9 Act (42 U.S.C. 247d)’’. 10 (2) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment under 11 paragraph (1) shall take effect not later than 15 12 days after the date of the enactment of this Act. 13 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:12 Jun 10, 2021 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H3040.IH H3040 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
