which was referred to the Committee on Education and Labor
A BILL
To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to include
service as a veteran family caregiver as a public service
job for purposes of the public service loan forgiveness
program, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Military and Veteran
4
Caregiver Student Loan Relief Act of 2021’’.

SEC. 2. REPAYMENT PLAN FOR PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOY-

EES.

Section 455(m)(3)(B) of the Higher Education Act
3
of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1087e(m)(3)(B)) is amended—
4
(1) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘or’’ at the end;
5
(2) in clause (ii), by striking the period at the
6
end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and
7
(3) by adding at the end the following:

‘‘(iii) service as a primary family care-
9
giver of veteran in the program of com-
10
prehensive assistance for family caregivers,
11
as established by the Secretary of Veterans
12
Affairs under section 1720G of title 38,
13
United States Code.’’.
