referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation
A BILL
To amend the Consumer Product Safety Act to strike provi-
sions that limit the disclosure of certain information
by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Sunshine in Product
4
Safety Act’’.

SEC. 2. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION ON CONSUMER

PRODUCTS.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 6 of the Consumer Prod-
3
uct Safety Act (15 U.S.C. 2055) is amended by striking
4
subsection (b).

(b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—The Consumer
6
Product safety Act is amended—
7
(1) in section 6A (15 U.S.C. 2055a), by strik-
8
ing ‘‘and (b)’’ each place that such appears in sub-
9
sections (b)(3) and (f); and
10
(2) in section 29 (15 U.S.C. 2078)—
11
(A) in subsection (e)(B), by striking ‘‘un-
12
less with respect to such information the Com-
13
mission has complied with the applicable re-
14
quirements of section 6(b)’’; and
15
(B) in subsection (f)(1), by striking ‘‘sub-
16
sections (a)(3) and (b)’’ and inserting ‘‘sub-
17
section (a)(3)’’.
