ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INCENTIVES PRO- 1 GRAM. 2 (a) PURPOSES.—Section 1240(3) of the Food Secu- 3 rity Act of 1985 (16 U.S.C. 3839aa(3)) is amended— 4 (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 5 the end; 6 (2) in subparagraph (C), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 7 the end; and 8 (3) by adding at the end the following: 9 ‘‘(D) reducing agricultural greenhouse gas 10 emissions; 11 ‘‘(E) increasing carbon sequestration; and 12 ‘‘(F) adapting to, or mitigating against, in- 13 creasing weather volatility; and’’. 14 (b) DEFINITIONS.—Section 1240A of the Food Secu- 15 rity Act of 1985 (16 U.S.C. 3839aa–1) is amended— 16 (1) by redesignating paragraphs (1) through 17 (10) as paragraphs (2) through (11), respectively;
